HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Darren Henry on winning 
4the 2023 Illinois Elementary School Association State 
5Championship for the high jump; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Darren Henry won 10 out of 11 high jump events 
7during the 2023 track and field season; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Darren Henry started the season with a jump of 
9five feet and one inch; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Darren Henry set a personal record of six feet 
11and one inch at the sectional meet on May 13, 2023; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Darren Henry also received second place in the 
13long jump; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Darren Henry broke the Jacksonville Middle School 
15record for long jump at the May 20, 2023 state track and field 
16meet; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Darren Henry was also part of the Jacksonville 
18Middle School 7th grade 4x100 relay team that won the 2023 
19Illinois Elementary School Association State Championship;

2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate Darren Henry on winning the 2023 Illinois 
5Elementary School Association State Championship for the high 
6jump, and we wish him many more successful seasons; and be it
