HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Cindi Lotz on the
4occasion of her retirement after serving 40 years in the
5Fayette County Supervisor of Assessments office; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Cindi Lotz was hired as a temporary employee in
71983; her duty was to type approximately 20,000 assessment
8notices and mail them to Fayette County residents; she was
9quickly retained as a full-time employee by then Supervisor of
10Assessments Lyle Ballance; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Cindi Lotz worked under Supervisor Ballance for
12several years until he retired and encouraged her to run for
13Fayette County Supervisor of Assessments as the Republican
14nominee in 1994; she was successful and proudly served Fayette
15County as an elected official for seven terms, a total of 28
16years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, During Cindi Lotz's time as the Fayette County
18Supervisor of Assessments, she was instrumental in the
19implementation of the GIS system (Geographic Information
20System) in Fayette County, completing all of the mapping and
21maintenance of the GIS system herself; she handled this large
22project with the utmost professionalism and brought the system

1up to date; Fayette County residents can now view their
2property information online, a major convenience for all
3taxpayers; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Cindi Lotz served on the board of the Illinois
5Chief County Assessment Officers (CCAO), starting in 2004; she
6worked her way through the ranks and served as the president
7from 2012 to 2013; it was her responsibility to set all agendas
8and organize and obtain viable speakers for educational
9opportunities for the CCAO membership; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Serving as president, Cindi Lotz presided over
11all of the committees, but legislation was one of her
12favorites; she was an advocate for all taxpayers in Illinois,
13not only those from Fayette County; she stood for what she
14believed to be right; while she was president of CCAO, she
15loved to mentor the newer county assessors; she was always
16very proud to have dedicated her career to public service and
17the assessment profession; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we congratulate Cindi Lotz on her retirement after serving 40
21years in the Fayette County Supervisor of Assessments office,
22and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it
