HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Richard
4R. "Rick" Payne, who passed away on April 2, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rick Payne was born on October 11, 1951; he
6attended Haugan Elementary School and Lane Technical High
7School; he married Susan Mason on March 22, 1980; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rick Payne was a member of International
9Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rick Payne truly lived life to the fullest; he
11loved his family, his dogs, traveling, golf, riding his
12motorcycle, and talking to anyone he met; he also loved to
13watch old westerns and listen to 1960s music; he was an avid
14fan of the Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks; Thursday nights
15were his poker night with the same bunch of guys for the past
1640+ years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rick Payne was an explorer and was fortunate
18enough, along with his wife, to visit 29 states and 12
19countries; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rick Payne is survived by his wife of 46 years,

1Susan; his children, Jason, Angela, Elizabeth (Jaime Valle),
2and Eric (Jaclyn Jennetten); his grandchildren, Elena, Ada,
3Arianna, Xavier, Leah, and Olivia; his mother, Betty (Benson)
4Payne; his brother, Scott; and numerous other family members
5and friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we mourn the passing of Richard R. "Rick" Payne and extend our
9sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
10and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Rick Payne as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
