HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of George
4H. Buck, who passed away on February 3, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Buck was born to George Werden Buck and
6Joan (Hammel) Buck in Joliet on March 21 1948; he graduated
7from Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary in Chicago and
8Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri; he married
9Joann Kuban at St. Bernard's Church in Joliet on June 22, 1977;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, In 1970, George Buck began working full-time at
12Werden Buck Company, a firm originally founded by his
13great-grandfather, Werden Buck, in 1888; and
 
14    WHEREAS, George Buck was involved in a number of
15organizations; he served as past president of the Rotary Club
16of Joliet, where he achieved 40 years of perfect attendance,
17and past president of the George Werden Buck Boys & Girls Club
18of Joliet; he was also a member of the Joliet Chamber of
19Commerce, the Joliet Catholic Academy Parents Board, the Board
20of Directors of First National Bank, and St. Paul the Apostle
21Catholic Church; and

1    WHEREAS, In his spare time, George Buck enjoyed Sunday
2afternoons and family gatherings at Gavican Farm; and
 
3    WHEREAS, George Buck was a humble, selfless man of
4honesty, integrity, and faith; he will be remembered for his
5devotion to his family and to the Werden Buck Company; and
 
6    WHEREAS, George Buck was the husband of Joann Buck for 45
7years; the father of sons, George (Sara), Joseph (Carrie), and
8the late Brian, and daughter, Kimberly (Timothy); the brother
9of Thomas and Timothy Buck; the grandfather of Sadie Buck,
10George W. Buck, Tucker Buck, Ellie Buck, Henry Gough, and
11Vinny Gough; and the step-grandfather of Chase Robinson, Jack
12Kennedy, Sean Kennedy, and Eric Kennedy; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
14HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15we mourn the passing of George H. Buck and extend our sincere
16condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
17him; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of George Buck as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
