Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that child care facilities, within the facilities' discretion, may accept a sincerely held religious exemption to a specific vaccination from an employee if the employee presents to the employer a signed statement of objection, detailing the grounds for the sincerely held objection. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 4.6 as follows: |
6 | | (225 ILCS 10/4.6) |
7 | | Sec. 4.6. Vaccination requirements for employees. No |
8 | | person may be employed by a child care facility that cares for |
9 | | children ages 6 and under unless that person shows proof of |
10 | | having received: (i) one dose of the Tdap (tetanus, |
11 | | diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine; and (ii) 2 doses of the |
12 | | measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine or shows proof of |
13 | | immunity to MMR. Child care facilities, within the facilities' |
14 | | discretion, may accept a sincerely held religious exemption to |
15 | | a specific vaccination from an employee if the employee |
16 | | presents to the employer a signed statement of objection, |
17 | | detailing the grounds for the sincerely held objection.
