SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ronald Cornell Wiley, who passed away
4on June 17, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was born to Tavares McClendon and
6Carmalita Wiley in Chicago on April 10, 2004; he graduated
7from Catalyst Circle Rock Grade School; he graduated from
8Morton West High School, where he was an honor roll student and
9a member of the basketball team; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was an entertainer who loved music
11and was always dancing; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley committed to his faith at an early
13age; he was baptized at Helping Hand M.B Church, where he
14helped in many capacities; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was affectionately known as "Dooda";
16he was loving, respectful, and intelligent; he will be
17remembered for his beautiful spirit; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was preceded in death by his
19great-grandfathers, Johnny Wiley, Tommie Bays, T.C. Phillips
20Sr., and Eugene McClendon; his great-grandmothers, Pearline

1Wiley, Charlotte A. Bays, Alberta McClendon, and Vertis
2Phillips; his grandfather, Ronald Wiley; his uncles, Earl
3Brown and Kendren Phillips; his cousin, Juanita Seaton; his
4aunt, Dominique McClendon; and his godmother, Renee
5Dobbs-McKinney; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley is survived by his mother, Carmalita
7Wiley; his father, Tavares (Felicia) McClendon; his
8stepfather, Antoine Garrett Sr.; his brothers, Antoine Garrett
9Jr., Malik McClendon, Stephon Jordan, and Jerrico Jordan; his
10cousins, Jakira, Kendra, Amari, Jeremiah, Josiah, Letoya,
11Glennise, and Shonda; his niece, Sianney; his nephews, Zayden
12and Zae'Brielle; his godmother, Linda Hall; his long-time
13girlfriend, Nyjia Rigsby; his honorary aunts, Tamika Barton
14and Chanta Kirby; and a host of additional cousins, aunts, and
15uncles; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Ronald Cornell Wiley and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Ronald Wiley as an expression of our
23deepest sympathy.
