SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Diane Elaine Rawlings of
4Jacksonville, who passed away on November 8, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings was born to Richard Orr and Edra
6Pauline Henry Johnson in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 14,
71945; she graduated from Triopia High School; she married
8Richard G. "Dick" Rawlings on April 29, 1978; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings began her 46 and a half year
10banking career at Farmers State Bank in Jacksonville; she
11began as a teller, was promoted to manager of the West Morton
12Avenue facility, and later returned to the main bank as a
13customer service supervisor; she was named vice president of
14Human Resources and Marketing in 1997 and eventually retired
15in 2015; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings served as president of the Morgan
17County Women's Republican Club and held lifetime memberships
18in the Kappa Omega Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Passavant
19Hospital Auxiliary; she was also involved in the Jacksonville
20Area Chamber of Commerce, the Art Association of Jacksonville,
21and the Prairieland United Way and volunteered for the CACHE
22drives; and

1    WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings enjoyed playing bridge and was an
2avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; she adored her family and
3enjoyed taking family vacations, spending time on their
4houseboat, and taking Sunday drives with her husband; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings was preceded in death by her
6husband and her three brothers, Richard Lee Johnson and his
7wife Gerry, Kenneth Wayne Johnson, and Donald Earl Johnson;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings is survived by her two children,
10Monica (Christopher) Carroll and Michael Rawlings; her four
11grandchildren, Jackson Carroll, Elaine Carroll, Nate Rawlings,
12and Olivia Rawlings; her two sisters-in-law, Judy Johnson and
13Carol Johnson; and her several nieces and nephews; therefore,
14be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Diane Elaine Rawlings and extend our sincere condolences to
18her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Diane Rawlings as an expression of
