SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Roger D. Nevins of Silvis, who passed
4away on November 10, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Nevins was born to Oliver and Audrey
6(Stout) Nevins in East Moline on October 11, 1932; he was
7drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952, serving in the Korean
8Conflict and spending some time in Japan; he married Joyce
9Anne Hoyt in Carbon Cliff on December 14, 1951; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Roger Nevins worked at International Harvester,
11John Deere Malleable, and John Deere Harvester, retiring in
121988; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Roger Nevins loved the outdoors, hunting,
14fishing, gardening, and mowing; he also enjoyed coaching his
15grandchildren; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Roger Nevins was preceded in death by his
17parents; his son, Calvin Nevins; his daughter-in-law, Karen
18Nevins; and his sisters, Margaret Davis, Betty Terrant, and
19Lois Conkle; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Roger Nevins is survived by his wife; his son,

1Larry (Cathy) Nevins; his grandchildren, Candi (Brandon)
2Buffington, Cori Nevins, Jenna (Ethan) Lardner, and Ben
3Nevins; his great-grandchildren, Ty, Lindsay, and Jordin; his
4sister, Beverly Skelton; and his brother, Billy (Barb) Nevins;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Roger D. Nevins and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Roger Nevins as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
