SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mark Bell of Streamwood, who passed
4away on June 5, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Bell grew up in Michigan but was a longtime
6resident of Streamwood; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mark Bell served as the custodial manager of the
8Streamwood Park District, where he worked for 26 years; he
9started as a custodian with the park district on March 18,
101996, two weeks prior to the grand opening of the Park Place
11Family Recreation Center; he was noted by colleagues for being
12a great coworker and the unofficial historian of Park Place;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure with the Streamwood Park
15District, Mark Bell worked as a superintendent at Woodfield
16Mall in Schaumburg during the 1980s and 1990s, overseeing
17building maintenance and cleaning crews; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mark Bell was an avid fan of the University of
19Michigan; he was very involved at his church, enjoyed golfing,
20and loved spending time with his family; alongside his wife,
21children, and grandchildren, he was a fixture at Streamwood

1Park District parks, facilities, and events; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mark Bell was known for being a kind, patient,
3humble, and hardworking person and a devoted family man; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mark Bell was the husband of Trish for 40 years;
5the father of David (Anna) Bell and Karen (Ray Krivanek) Bell;
6the grandfather of Emma, Zach, Natalie, Abigail, Jake, Ray,
7and honorary grandson, Dryden Helland; the brother of Dave
8(Pam) Bell and Sandy (the late Phil) Richardson; and the
9brother-in-law of Bob Bouse; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Mark Bell and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mark Bell as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
