SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Erika Dresch of Springfield, who
4passed away on August 31, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Erika Dresch was born to Ernst and Anna (Tröst)
6Schaflein in Germany on November 13, 1938; she came to the
7United States in 1960, settling in Springfield; she later
8received her U.S. citizenship, of which she was very proud;
9she learned English, but she never lost her German accent in
10the many years she lived in the U.S.; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Erika Dresch worked as a waitress for the Illini
12Country Club, the Island Bay Yacht Club, and the Northfield
13Inn Conference Center; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Erika Dresch enjoyed cooking amazing, authentic
15German cuisine, which she loved to share with her family; she
16also enjoyed bowling, playing the lottery, traveling, and
17gardening; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Erika Dresch will be remembered for her strong
19personality and exceptional work ethic; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Erika Dresch was preceded in death by her

1parents; her son, Robbie Nein; her grandsons, Mitchie Nein and
2Riley Nein; her sisters, Marga Schuster and Hilde Madrian; her
3brother, Robert Schaflein; the father of her children, Larry
4R. Nein; and her beloved dog, Dusty; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Erika Dresch is survived by her daughter, Pia
6(Rodney) Yoswig; her sons, Larry (Victoria) Nein and Mitchell
7(Kathy) Nein; her grandchildren, Brittany (Tyler) Sitko, Kevin
8Owens, Alexis Yoswig, Kendra Nein, Kayla Nein, Mercedes Nein,
9Cheyenne Nein, Harley Nein, Robbie Nein, Eric (Jordan
10Miller-Sims) Nein, Jacob Nein, and LaSenda Nein; and her
11great-grandchildren, Payton, Madelyn, Olivia, Layla, Malia,
12Mikayah, Adrianna, Randall, Carter, Ayden, and Aubrey;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Erika Dresch and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
17friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Erika Dresch as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
