SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Michael "Mickey" Reher of Des Plaines,
4who passed away on April 23, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mickey Reher was born on July 8, 1935; he served
6in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War; and
 
7    WHEREAS, After completing his service in the Navy, Mickey
8Reher worked at Grand Stage Lighting and became a master
9electrician; later in his career, he crewed on many electrical
10departments for a variety of venues, including The Auditorium,
11McCormick Place, and the Mill Run Theatre, among others; he
12then joined the crew at the Lyric Opera in props and spent
13years in charge of the orchestra pit; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mickey Reher had been a member of Theatrical
15Stage Employees Union Local 2 since 1959, retiring in 1998;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mickey Reher was an avid motorcyclist and would
18often take trips to visit his many friends from Local 2; he was
19a proud member and advocate for AA, always available to
20support those in crisis; and

1    WHEREAS, Mickey Reher is survived by his children, Michael
2(Maria) Reher and Jeff (Patti) Reher; his grandchildren, Brian
3Reher, Scott (Ashley) Reher, and Matt Reher; and his dear
4great-granddaughter, Autumn; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Michael "Mickey" Reher and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Mickey Reher as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
