SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard Donald "Dick" Grawe of Coal
4Valley, who passed away on July 18, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dick Grawe was born to Irvin and Maggie (Tobin)
6Grawe in Worthington, Iowa on February 8, 1935; he served in
7the U.S. Navy; he married Nancy Holman in Yuma, Arizona on
8February 14, 1955, and she preceded him in death on February
916, 2018; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dick Grawe owned and operated Valley Open-Air
11Market for over 15 years, retiring in 2002; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dick Grawe was a member of St. Maria Goretti
13Catholic Church in Coal Valley, Kewanee American Legion Post
14#31, and Forty and Eight; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and
15going to the casino; he was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago
16Cubs fan; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dick Grawe was preceded in death by his parents;
18his wife, Nancy; his granddaughter, Rebecca Grawe; and his
19siblings, Dan Grawe and Mary Ann Krantz; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dick Grawe is survived by his children, Diana

2Debra (Ed) Greif; his grandchildren, Jessie Peterson, Jason

5great-grandchildren, Ellis, Jackson, Liam, Alexander,
6Mackenzie, Bailey, Ryan, and Sage; and his sweetheart, Anita

8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Richard Donald "Dick" Grawe and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Dick Grawe as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
