SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Marjorie Elizabeth "Margie" Caisley
4of Sacramento, California, who passed away on July 4, 2022;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Margie Caisley was born to William and Mary
7(Burnham) Caisley on July 8, 1976; she graduated from Normal
8Community High School and completed her bachelor's degree and
9master's degree in civil engineering at the University of
10Illinois; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Margie Caisley moved to California in 2000 and
12began working at Northwest Hydraulic Consultants; after the
13birth of her son, she began work at the State of California
14Department of Water Resources, eventually transitioning to the
15Department of Fish & Wildlife, where she provided technical
16expertise for restoration projects across California; she was
17a trusted and respected colleague and advocate for salmon,
18beavers, rivers, and the natural world as a whole; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Margie Caisley lived a life full of family,
20friends, and adventure; she cherished her role as mommy and
21stepparent and loved her children deeply; she was devoted to
22her family and continues to be an inspiration to them and to

1all who knew her; her friends and colleagues created the
2Margie Caisley Conservation Engineering Endowment Scholarship
3fund in her honor; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Margie Caisley was a skilled pie baker, talented
5handbell player, avid sailer, intrepid hiker, and a mediocre
6but enthusiastic skier; her life was filled with kind,
7wonderful, and loyal friends; she excelled at creating a
8community and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran
9Church; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Margie Caisley is survived by her wife, Nicole
11Oehmke; her former wife, Amanda Bohl, and their children,
12Bennett and Adelaide Caisley and Octavia, Margaret, and Henry
13Oehmke; her parents; and her brother, Tom Caisley, his wife,
14Jeremy, and their daughters, Lena and Allyson; therefore, be
15it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Marjorie Elizabeth "Margie" Caisley and extend our sincere
19condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
20her; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Margie Caisley as an expression of
