SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Larry Joseph Bodin of Silvis, who
4passed away on June 24, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Bodin was born to Neal A. and Lois L. Havlik
6Bodin in Duluth, Minnesota on February 21, 1940; he was
7educated in the Quad Cities and graduated from Rock Island
8High School in 1958; he served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to
91965; he married Bonnie Jones in Rock Island on July 3, 1969,
10and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2013; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Larry Bodin was employed at Oscar Meyer and Rich
12Metals and retired from Alter Metals, all of which were based
13in Davenport; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Larry Bodin was a member of the National Rifle
15Association and the Victory Baptist Church in East Moline; he
16enjoyed photography, motorcycles, shooting sports, and toy
17collecting; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Larry Bodin was preceded in death by his parents;
19his wife, Bonnie; and his grandson, Jordan Lee DeGroot; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Larry Bodin is survived by his daughter, Rebecca

1(Mark) Hilliard; his son, Brian (Carrie) Bodin; his
2grandchildren, Mark Andrew (Tonya) Hilliard, Bridget Ellen
3(Tim) Bearden, Andrew Wayne (Rachel) DeGroot, Joshua James
4Russell (Dakota) DeGroot, Michael Jeremiah Hilliard, Chance
5Skyler DeGroot, Mason James Hilliard, Hannah Lee Bodin, and
6Jesse Ray Bodin; his 11 great-grandchildren; his brothers,
7Rodger Bodin and Bruce Bodin; and his sister, Jan Bodin;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Larry Joseph Bodin and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Larry Bodin as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
