SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James A. "Jim" Malecky, who passed
4away on April 29, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Malecky served as the honorable Mayor of Oak
6Forest from 1985 to 1993; he was also the former 3rd Ward
7Alderman; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jim Malecky was the owner of Malecky Builders, a
9prominent real estate and development company, building
10throughout the Southwest suburbs for the last 50 years; he was
11also part owner of the World Music Theatre in Tinley Park; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jim Malecky tirelessly served his community
13through countless clubs and donations, and he is credited with
14the creation of Oak Fest in addition to the yearly Oak Forest
154th of July Fireworks; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jim Malecky was the husband of Carol A.
17(Klosinski) Malecky; the father of Kimberly (Mark) Iles and
18Kristine (Marty) Kalnins; the stepfather of Matthew Olino and
19the late Michael (Tina) Olino; the grandfather of Madelyn
20Iles, Kathryn Iles, James Iles, Gabrielle Kalnins, Mason
21Kalnins, Ella Kalnins, Reagan Olino, and Carter Olino; the

1brother of Bonita (James) O'Boyle, Joseph (Melana) Malecky,
2the late John Malecky, and the late Elaine Hensley; and the
3uncle of many; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6James A. "Jim" Malecky and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Jim Malecky as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
