SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Pearl A. Schneider of Jacksonville,
4who passed away on March 7, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider was born in Columbia to Vernon
6Valentine and Marcella Janson Schneider on April 13, 1948; she
7graduated from Immaculate Conception Elementary School in
8Columbia in 1962 and from SS. Peter & Paul High School in
9Waterloo in 1966; she received her Bachelor of Science in
10Education (Elementary/Special Education) from
11SIU-Edwardsville in 1975 and a Master of Science in Education
12in 1987; she took classes for her Ed.D. program at
13SIU-Edwardsville in 1993; she lived in Pittsfield from 1974 to
141988 and settled in Jacksonville in 1989; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider taught for the West Pike School
16District from 1975 to 1976 at New Canton and Hull and then for
17Jacksonville School District 117 from 1976 to 2001 at
18Jacksonville Elementary School, Eisenhower Elementary School,
19and Washington Elementary School as a Special Education
20teacher; she served from 2001 to 2003 as an Assistant Special
21Education Director for the Jacksonville School District; from
222003 to 2010, she worked as a State Special Education
23Consultant and the Illinois Alternate Assessment Director for

1the Illinois State Board of Education; she retired on February
228, 2010; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider was a member of the Church of Our
4Saviour and the Pittsfield Theatre Guild from 1974 to 1988;
5she served on the Routt School Board from 1999 to 2005 and the
6Our Saviour School Board from 2010 to 2018; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Pearl Schneider is survived by supportive
8neighbors and many friends, including Dennis and Pat Pope and
9their children, Alex and Emily; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Pearl A. Schneider and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the friends of Pearl Schneider as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
