SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy Sean
4Riley, who was killed in the line of duty on December 29, 2021;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Deputy Riley was born to Doug and Mary Jo (Hill)
7Riley on November 5, 1983; he married Leslie Young on August
811, 2007; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Deputy Riley was a 3-year veteran of the Wayne
10County Sheriff's Department, serving as both a corrections
11officer and patrol deputy; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Deputy Riley, alongside his wife, dedicated his
13time to community sports; he also served as a t-ball and
14baseball coach; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Deputy Riley lived life to the fullest, loved his
16family and friends deeply, and died doing what he loved; he
17will be remembered as a devoted public servant, father, and
18friend; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Deputy Riley was preceded in death by his mother,
20Mary Jo Riley; and

1    WHEREAS, Deputy Riley is survived by his wife, Leslie
2Riley; his children, Logan Brown, Deegan Riley, and Mia Jo
3Riley; his father, Doug Riley; his sister, Spring (Darrin)
4Bonney; his mother-in-law, Glenda Young; his sister-in-law,
5Glenna (Jim) Michael; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
6his special aunt, Margaret (Joe) Molt; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy Sean Riley and extend our
10sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Deputy Riley as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
