SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Vito Saputo Jr. of Springfield, who
4passed away on December 31, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Vito Saputo Jr. was born in Springfield to Vito
6and Rose Calandrino Saputo on January 17, 1929; he graduated
7from Lanphier High School and served in the U.S. Army; he
8married Beverly Lawrence on July 22, 1961; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Vito Saputo Jr. lived an extraordinary life,
10traveled the country, worked hard, and took great pride in his
11family; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Vito Saputo Jr. loved animals, music, playing the
13piano, tinkering in his garage, exercising, and enjoying life
14on Lake Springfield; he had enough entertaining stories and
15valuable lessons for multiple lifetimes; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Vito Saputo Jr. was preceded in death by his
17parents; his daughter, Deena Saputo; his brothers, Russell,
18Frank, and Joe Saputo; and his sisters, Katie Zeppetella,
19Stella Murrill, and Vita Summers; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Vito Saputo Jr. is survived by his wife, Beverly;

1his children, Vito (Cynthia) Saputo, Melinda (Donny) O'Connor,
2and Tony Saputo; his grandson, Dr. Blake O'Connor; and many
3nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Vito Saputo Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Vito Saputo Jr. as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
