SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Eric Juane "Ricky" Clemons, who passed
4away on October 6, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Eric Clemons was born to Harold and Nadine Avon
6Clemons in St. Louis, Missouri on August 1, 1953; he attended
7East St. Louis public schools; he completed his general
8studies at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale; he
9married Roeveina Moore on August 8, 2021; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Eric Clemons worked for many established
11companies over the course of his career, including Peabody
12Coal, J.B. Hunt, and Davidson Incorporated; and
 
13    WHEREAS, After working for others, Eric Clemons focused on
14his love for truck driving and developed his own trucking
15business, permitting him to make shipments and deliveries to
16businesses and large corporations across the United States;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, After over 20 years of dedicated employment, Eric
19Clemons retired before quickly realizing that he truly enjoyed
20what he did; he re-entered the workforce and was then employed
21by JC Transport, where he remained until he became ill; and

1    WHEREAS, Eric Clemons was preceded in death by his mother,
2Nadine Clemons; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Eric Clemons is survived by his wife, Roeveina
4Clemons; his daughter, Sunshine Clemons; his granddaughter,
5Aria Bender; his stepchildren, Anthony Miller, DeAugenaye
6Brown, Demarcus Brown, and Aaliyah Hyde; his special
7step-granddaughter, Armajanaye "Tink" Meaders; his father,
8Harold (Girthal) Clemons; his siblings, Harolyn (Ellsworth)
9Neal, Lawrence Clemons, Haralyna (Brian) McGill, Anthony Rich,
10Carla Rich, Todd Clemons, and Shavawn Blakeney; and a host of
11other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore,
12be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Eric Juane "Ricky" Clemons and extend our sincere condolences
16to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
17it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Eric Clemons as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
