SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Gary J. Schnell of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on September 7, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Schnell was born to Louis and Adeline
6(Jafvert) Schnell in Rock Island on December 19, 1941; he
7served in the U.S. Navy; he married Ellen Brobst in Rock Island
8on April 5, 1968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gary Schnell worked as a journeyman sheet metal
10worker at The Schebler Company in Bettendorf and the Johnson
11Contracting Company in East Moline; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gary Schnell was a member of Local Union 91 in
13Rock Island and American Legion Post 246 in Moline; he enjoyed
14reading, making wood carvings, painting, building items out of
15sheet metal, and playing shuffle board, darts, euchre, and
16poker; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gary Schnell was preceded in death by his
18brother, David Schnell; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gary Schnell is survived by his children, Louis
20(Jennifer) Schnell, Rebecca Carpenter (Bryan Snell), Harry

1Schnell (Evelyn Caulkins), and Raymond Schnell; his
2grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Emily, Paige, Lily, Corbin, and
3Connor; his sister, Marianne (Ron) Stablein; his brothers,
4Paul (Melody) Schnell and Tom (Marilyn) Schnell; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Gary J. Schnell and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Gary Schnell as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
