SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of David "Dave" A. Juelich of
4Springfield, who passed away on July 17, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dave Juelich was born to Charles and Lena Juelich
6in Springfield on June 29, 1942; he served his country in the
7United States Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1959 to
81964; he was awarded a scholarship to attend Oklahoma State
9University to study Fire Protection Technology in 1966; he
10married Marjorie Gibson on March 7, 1970; he completed his
11bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Sangamon State
12University in 1984 and completed his masters' degree in 1985;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dave Juelich was appointed as a firefighter to
15the Springfield Fire Department in 1964; he later served as a
16safety engineer with the Mann-Kline Insurance Company in
17Kansas City, Missouri, Topeka, Kansas, Honolulu, Hawaii, and
18various other cities; he was reinstated to the Springfield
19Fire Department and retired in 1979 as a captain; in 1986, he
20founded Environmental Safety Consultants (ESC, LTD.) and
21consulted with school districts throughout Illinois for
22asbestos management plans, abatement, and environmental
23issues; he served as president of ESC and retired in 2017; and

1    WHEREAS, Dave Juelich's fondest memories were of the
2winters he spent in Naples, Florida, where he enjoyed fishing
3on his boat with his grandchildren and riding in the Gulf of
4Mexico with friends; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dave Juelich is survived by his wife of 51 years,
6Marjorie; his children, Lisa (Kevin) Graham, Brent (Dr. Paula)
7Juelich, and Tracy (John) Hayes; and his nine grandchildren,
8JP, Tim, Matthew, and Nathan Graham, Ethan and Ryan Hayes, and
9Amanda, David, and Gracie Juelich; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12David "Dave" A. Juelich and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Dave Juelich as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
