SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Laura Ann (Flatt) Childs of East
4Alton, who passed away on July 10, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Laura Childs was born in Alton on May 24, 1969;
6she was the daughter of Paula O'Neal and Edward Flatt Jr.; the
7sister of Daniele (Pat) Frymire; the aunt of Spencer; the
8sister of Wyatt (companion, Mallorie Davidson) Flatt; and the
9aunt of Madyson Flatt; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Laura Childs attended Saint Kevin's School; she
11graduated from Roxana Community School in 1987; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Laura Childs was known for being kind and sweet
13and for loving with all her heart; she served as her maternal
14grandfather's caretaker for the last several years; she made
15many friends throughout her life, touched many lives, and will
16be missed; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Laura Childs was the wife of Duane Childs; the
18mother of Dennis Lee Childs; the mother of her bonus children,
19Dakota Childs and Deidre Childs; the grandmother of Dakota's
20children, Jax and Celia; the granddaughter of her maternal
21grandparents, Joe O'Neal and the late Betty O'Neal, and her

1paternal grandparents, the late Edward Flatt Sr. and the late
2Wanda Flatt Schenato; the niece of Robert and Debi Bushnell,
3Timothy O'Neal, Rhonda Plummer, and Mike Flatt; and the friend
4to many; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Laura Ann (Flatt) Childs and extend our sincere condolences to
8her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Laura Childs as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
