SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Lloyd D. Strohm of Moline, who passed
4away on April 10, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm was born in Clinton, Iowa to Frank
6and Agnes (Nelson) Strohm on February 1, 1928; he served in the
7U.S. Navy during World War II as a Communication Specialist
83rd Class, stationed in Alaska and Puerto Rico; he married
9Dorothy "Dottie" Roeh in Bettendorf, Iowa on June 28, 1952;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm started his career at Frank
12Foundries as a CPA; he eventually became President and then
13CEO; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm and his wife loved traveling with
15family and friends and cherished their retirement years in
16Port Aransas, Texas; one of his greatest joys was being a
17volunteer at the Texas State Aquarium; he enjoyed singing,
18baking bread, and fishing; he was a member of the Lions Club,
19the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and
20the Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, where he served as an
21Elder and helped with Stewardship and Sessions; he and his
22wife attended the First Presbyterian Church in East Moline

1when returning to the Quad Cities; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm was preceded in death by his wife,
3Dottie; his parents; and his siblings, Frank, Albert, Paul,
4Barney, Alice, Marion, Donny, and Eugene; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm is survived by his children, Tara
6Lynn Strohm, John David (Mary Pat Link) Strohm, and Nina S.
7(Dr. John) Golden; his foster children, Steve (Cheryl) Manning
8and Steven "Jay" Johnson; his grandchildren, Kristin Strohm
9(Josh Penry), Matt (Cara) Strohm, Kelly (Reid) Galbraith,
10Claire Strohm, Dr. Ryan Golden (Dr. Alexandra), Dr. Ben Golden
11(Jamie Grivas), Ian Golden, and Zachary (Amy) Strohm; his
12great-grandchildren, Chase, Emme, Sophie, and Caroline Penry,
13Lincoln Strohm, Grace and Leighton Galbraith, Henry and Jack
14Strohm, and Eleanor Rose Golden; his sister, Shirley Mullins;
15his brother-in-law, Ed Smith; and his special caregiver,
16Yukari Carillo; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Lloyd D. Strohm and extend our sincere condolences to his
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
21further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
