SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mariellen C. Sabato, formerly of
4Deerfield, who passed away on March 28, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was born in Chicago on May 7,
61921; she grew up in Wilmette and attended St. Scholastica
7High School; she married Anthony Sabato in 1944 and settled in
8Deerfield; she earned a master's degree from Northern Illinois
9University in 1982; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was elected to the Lake County
11Board in 1974 and worked to expand the Lake County Forest
12Preserves; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was a member of the Deerfield
14Citizens for Human Rights, through which she advocated for
15open housing; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was preceded in death by her
17husband; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato is survived by her eight
19children; Joanne (Thomas) Frankenfield, Francis (Melinda)
20Sabato, David (Mitzi) Sabato, Toni (Rick) Hover, Rita (Thomas)

1Roberts, Monica Roche, Daniel (Margaret) Sabato, and Edward
2(Elizabeth) Sabato; her 17 grandchildren; and her six
3great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Mariellen C. Sabato and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Mariellen C. Sabato as an
11expression of our deepest sympathy.
