SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death Svitlana Sierova, who passed away on
4November 14, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Svitlana Sierova was born to Anna and Anatoliy
6Tsitsiy on July 12, 1963; she grew up in a small town outside
7of Odessa, Ukraine, and her young life was full of challenges
8and responsibilities; she learned piano from a young age and
9graduated from music school at age 15; she attended university
10at Bilhorod-Dnistrovs'kyi, Ukraine where she earned her
11bachelor's degree in Agronomy; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Upon graduating college, Svitlana Sierova moved
13to Odessa and started working at a sugar factory, while
14pursuing her hobby of knitting after work hours, which
15eventually led to a passion for sewing; she had a daughter,
16Yuliya, and began working long hours as a real estate agent to
17support the family; she and her daughter eventually moved to
18the United States in search of a better life; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Once in America, Svitlana Sierova started taking
20English lessons at Lewis and Clark Community College in
21Edwardsville; she also focused on learning proper sewing
22techniques and began working as a tailer at Men's Warehouse;

1she led an active lifestyle that included taking swimming and
2Zumba lessons at her local YMCA; she loved Disney movies and
3being a mom; she made many friends in the community and loved
4having guests; she was very generous, loving, energetic, and
5full of life; and
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Svitlana Sierova and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Svitlana Sierova as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
