SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
New Act

    Creates the Family and Fertility Disclosure in Health Insurance Act. Requires employers that provide health insurance coverage to employees through policies written outside of this State to disclose to employees specified coverages required under the Illinois Insurance Code for policies written is this State and disclose the coverages that are not included in the coverage provided to the employees. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning employment.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Family
5and Fertility Disclosure in Health Insurance Act.
 
6    Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act.
7    "Employee" means any individual permitted to work by an
8employer.
9    "Employer" means an individual, partnership, corporation,
10association, business, trust, person, or entity for whom
11employees are gainfully employed in Illinois and includes the
12State of Illinois, any state officer, department, or agency,
13any unit of local government, and any school district.
 
14    Section 10. Required disclosures. An employer that
15provides employees with a health insurance coverage policy
16written outside of this State must provide all employees at
17the start of employment and each year during open enrollment
18with a written list of the provisions set forth in Sections
19356g through 356z.41 of the Illinois Insurance Code that are
20included in the provided health insurance coverage and a
21written list of those provisions that are not included in the
22provided health insurance coverage.

1    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2becoming law.
