HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas
4F. Sheehan of Chicago, who passed away on April 20, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas F. Sheehan was born to Daniel and
6Catherine (Sullivan) Sheehan on Chicago's West Side on April
74, 1941 and was the second of five children; he was a native of
8Chicago's Austin neighborhood; as a child, he attended Our
9Lady Help of Christians and Austin High School; he served in
10the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962 to 1968; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Sheehan worked as a letter carrier out of
12the U.S. Post Office in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago; he
13left the post office for a time, becoming a lead senior auditor
14for Jewel Food Stores; he returned to the post office as a mail
15carrier, serving the residents of Oak Park for many years
16until his retirement; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Thomas Sheehan was passionate about service to
18his faith, to his country, and for others; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Thomas Sheehan was preceded in death by his
20brothers, Daniel and Robert; and

1    WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Thomas Sheehan was
2survived by his wife, Carole; his brother, John; his sister,
3Maryann; his son, Michael (Michelle) Sheehan; his daughter,
4Laura (John) Broderick; and his grandsons, Dan (Stephanie) and
5Sean Broderick; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we mourn the passing of Thomas F. Sheehan and extend our
9sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
10and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Thomas Sheehan as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
