HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Samuel
4Vincent Richmond of Peoria, who passed away on October 3,
52022; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was born to Hilton and Eloise
7(McCullum) Richmond in Peoria on October 11, 1962; he
8graduated from Richwoods High School in 1980, where he played
9basketball; he married Deetra Bradley in Peoria in 2017; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond worked for Dixon's Seafood on
11University for many years; he later worked as a butcher for
12Kroger on Wisconsin Street for over 30 years; he also worked
13for Vonachen Services, Inc. (VSI); he last worked in
14maintenance at the Peoria International Airport; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan;
16he enjoyed going to movies and loved watching movies on
17Netflix; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was affectionately known as
19"Meat Man"; he lit up every room he walked into with his
20enormous smile; and

1    WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was preceded in death by his
2sister, Sandra McCullum; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond is survived by his wife; his
4parents; his sons, Julius Lewis, Isiah Thompson, and Jalen
5Bradley; his daughters, Shylow Humes, Kayla Thompson, Asia
6Abbey, Eterica Bradley, and Courtney Lewis; his brothers,
7Avery Hightower and Bruce Smith; his sisters, Theresa
8(Terrence) Smith-Harris, Joyce Bradley, and Karen (Donald)
9Smith; his 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
10other relatives, and his friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we mourn the passing of Samuel Vincent Richmond and extend our
14sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
15and loved him; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Vincent Richmond as an expression
18of our deepest sympathy.
