HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize Vice President Shawn Scott
4of Medline Industries on the occasion of receiving the 2022
5Joe Warner Patient Advocacy Award; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Shawn Scott has worked tirelessly for elderly and
7disabled citizens, especially here in Illinois; he has
8developed several programs and partnerships to help long-term
9care facilities perform at their best; he travels across the
10nation to meet with thousands of nursing homes every year; he
11has also been active on the boards and committees of several
12organizations; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The American Health Care Association and the
14National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) bestows the
15Joe Warner Patient Advocacy Award on association members who
16have worked diligently to educate members of Congress about
17the needs of long-term care patients and residents and how to
18advance quality long-term care; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Named for the late Joe Warner, the former
20president and CEO of Illinois-based Heritage Enterprises, the
21annual award recognizes advocates who exemplify the same
22compassion for and commitment to our nation's frail, elderly,

1and disabled citizens; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Shawn Scott, alongside Medline Industries,
3provided critical personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies
4to skilled nursing and assisted living facilities across the
5State of Illinois when many were experiencing a dire shortage
6in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Medline Industries continues to coordinate with
8the long-term care profession and government agencies on
9supply chain needs and is contributing to national PPE
10distribution efforts in COVID-19 hot spots as part of FEMA's
11Project Airbridge; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate Shawn Scott on receiving the 2022 Joe Warner
15Patient Advocacy Award; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to Shawn Scott as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
