HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Chandra
4Dion Battle Blanks, who passed away on April 15, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks was born to Reverend Leroy Battle
6and Helen Battle in Bellwood on November 23, 1971; she
7committed to her faith at an early age and was baptized at
8Garfield Park Baptist Church in Chicago; she attended Proviso
9High School, where she excelled at playing the clarinet in
10band and singing in the gospel choir, and graduated in 1989;
11she was listed in the 1987-1988 edition of Who's Who Among
12American High School Students; she graduated from Michigan
13State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in
14Marketing; she married Marq Blanks, and they had three
15children together; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks worked in various positions for an
17established insurance company for over 28 years and was
18recognized many times for her excellence; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks was a faithful and devoted member
20of New Life Ambassadors for Christ Christian Church; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks enjoyed volunteering in her

1community, traveling, movies, and spending time with her
2children; she especially loved chocolate; she had a contagious
3laugh and made friends everywhere she went; she was a loving
4and devoted mother, an excellent big sister, a loyal daughter,
5a fun-loving cousin, and a thoughtful friend and colleague;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Chandra Blanks is survived by her parents; her
8children, Quinton, Joslyn, and Mia Blanks; her sister,
9Shaquita Battle; her aunts and uncles; her cousins; and her
10friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we mourn the passing of Chandra Dion Battle Blanks and extend
14our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who
15knew and loved her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Chandra Blanks as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
