HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert
4Lee Murray of Chicago, who passed away on September 7, 2021;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Murray was born to Johnnie and Sadie
7Murray in Memphis, Tennessee on April 7, 1945; his family
8moved to Chicago, and he was raised in the Woodlawn
9neighborhood; he attended Hyde Park Career Academy and Coleman
10Barber School; he married Diane in 1965; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Murray worked as a licensed and practicing
12barber for over 50 years, with a close client list that
13followed him to different barbershop locations; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Murray spent most of his life as a
15hardworking steel mill man; he worked at LTV Steel until its
16closing; he then worked at U.S. Steel, where he held several
17positions, including union representative; he retired after 50
18years of service in 2010; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Murray was preceded in death by his
20daughter, Tonya; his parents; and his brothers, Alvin Murray,
21Phil Murray, Gregory Murray, Michael Murray, Tyrone Murray,

1and Ronnie Murray; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Murray is survived by his wife, Diana; his
3children, Sharon Mark, LaDonna Paulk, Tracy Murray, and Angie
4Gary; his brother, Darrell Murray; his sister, Doris Murray;
5and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of Robert Lee Murray and extend our
10sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Robert Murray as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
