HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council, in partnership with
3Community Health Partnership and First Street Renaissance, has
4been holding pop up vaccine clinics throughout the State
5through the Equity Distribution Division of the Illinois
6Department of Public Health; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council has vaccinated
8approximately 20,000 people, mostly from the Latinx community;
9it has vaccinated many seniors, people with disabilities,
10essential workers from lower income brackets, and people who
11lack technology or other ways to access appointments; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council clinics are unique
13and provide a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere; many
14attendees come with their children or in multi-generational
15families and share their gratitude, relief, and joy after
16receiving their shots; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council team provides the
18dignity, compassion, and cultural competence that leads to
19people feeling safe, valued, and respected, and is making a
20difference with heroic leadership in the fight to get everyone
21in our great State vaccinated; and

1    WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council has been a partner
2with the State of Illinois for 40 years, providing vaccines
3and other vital services to migrant workers across the State;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
6HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we recognize the efforts by the Illinois Migrant Council in
8vaccinating those most in need and making everyone safer and
9healthier; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the Illinois Migrant Council as a symbol of our
12respect and esteem.
