HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are
3honored to pay tribute to those who have given their lives to
4protect and serve the citizens of this great nation; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
6the State of Illinois learned with much sadness of the death in
7Iraq of Sergeant Brian Romines of Simpson and formerly of Anna
8on June 6, 2005; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Brian Romines was born to Clyde Randall and
10Melinda Clary Romines on October 26, 1984; he was a graduate of
11Anna Jr. High School and Vienna High School; he attended many
12churches and was a member of the VFW in Herrin and an honorary
13member of the Roustabouts of Little Egypt Southern Illinois;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Brian Romines joined the U.S. Army National Guard
16in October of 2002, completed basic training in November of
172003, and was deployed in November of 2004; he was a member of
18the 3rd Battalion, 123rd Field Artillery based out of Marion;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Brian Romines was preceded in death by his
21paternal great-grandparents, John Raymond and Mary Romines,

1and his maternal great-grandparents, Lester and Chloe Jones;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, The passing of Sergeant Brian Romines has been
4deeply felt by many, especially his mother, Melinda Clary; his
5father, Randy (Kris) Romines; his brother, Randall (Chrissy)
6Romines; his sister, Tera Romines; his stepsister, Addie
7Jones; his uncles, Mark (Carol) Clary, Todd Clary, Brad
8Romines, Richard Romines, and Greg (Woodie) Romines; his
9nephews, Brennan Romines and Ryland Solami; his niece, Hannah
10Romines; his cousins, Megan, Kaci, Samantha, Derek, Rendee,
11Chelsie, Richard, Tabatha, Tiffany, Teila, and Tyler; his
12other relatives; and his many friends including his extended
13family of the Alpha Battery, 2/123 FA, 504th MPBN; therefore,
14be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
17SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the section of
18Illinois Route 146 between Anna and Vienna as the "Sergeant
19Brian Romines Memorial Highway"; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
21is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with
22State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
23giving notice of the name "Sergeant Brian Romines Memorial

1Highway"; and be it further
 
2    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
3presented to the family of Sergeant Brian Romines and the
4Secretary of Transportation.
