AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1834

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1834 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by
5adding Section 1707 as follows:
 
6    (820 ILCS 405/1707 new)
7    Sec. 1707. Pilot program; cost savings; operational
8efficiencies.
9    (a) In this Section, "payroll data provider" means payroll
10providers, verification companies, and other commercial or
11non-commercial entities that collect and maintain data
12regarding employment and income.
13    (b) In order to achieve cost savings, minimize fraud, and
14increase unemployment insurance program operational
15efficiencies, the Department shall participate in a no-cost,
1690-day pilot program in which it shall obtain real-time

1employment and income data (up-to-date, non-modeled employment
2and income data provided by employers and payroll providers)
3from a payroll data provider that is also a consumer reporting
4agency, as defined by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act.
5    (c) Upon the pilot program successfully demonstrating cost
6savings, the Department shall incorporate such real-time
7employment and income data into its eligibility determination
8process.".
