    Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that taxing districts, other than certain school districts, shall annually certify their levy on or before the third (currently, last) Tuesday in December. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning revenue.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing
5Section 18-15 as follows:
 
6    (35 ILCS 200/18-15)
7    Sec. 18-15. Filing of levies of taxing districts.
8    (a) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, all
9taxing districts, other than a school district subject to the
10authority of a Financial Oversight Panel pursuant to Article
111H of the School Code, shall annually certify to the county
12clerk, on or before the third last Tuesday in December, the
13several amounts that they have levied.
14    (b) A school district subject to the authority of a
15Financial Oversight Panel pursuant to Article 1H of the School
16Code shall file a certificate of tax levy, necessary to effect
17the implementation of the approved financial plan and the
18approval of the Panel, as otherwise provided by this Section,
19except that the certificate must be certified to the county
20clerk on or before the first Tuesday in November.
21    (c) If a school district as specified in subsection (b) of
22this Section fails to certify and return the certificate of
23tax levy, necessary to effect the implementation of the

1approved financial plan and the approval of the Financial
2Oversight Panel, to the county clerk on or before the first
3Tuesday in November, then the Financial Oversight Panel for
4the school district shall proceed to adopt, certify, and
5return a certificate of tax levy for the school district to the
6county clerk on or before the last Tuesday in December.

8    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
9becoming law.
