SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Durwood "Durk" Fogle of Rock Island, who
4passed away on October 29, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Durk Fogle was born to Dewitt and Essie Mae
6(McKinney) Fogle in Briar, Missouri on February 14, 1927; he
7graduated from Doniphan High School in 1943; he served in the
8U.S. Army during World War Two in the Asiatic Pacific Theater;
9he married Cathleen (Trimble) DePaepe in Rock Island on August
1020, 1976; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Durk Fogle worked at International Harvester
12Farmall Works in Rock Island; he retired as a foreman after
13more than 32 years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Durk Fogle loved fishing and hunting, especially
15trips to Missouri every spring to hunt wild turkeys; his
16lifetime passion was playing checkers, and he won many state
17and regional titles throughout the years; he was always
18available to offer a helping hand and good advice to family and
19friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Durk Fogle was preceded in death by his parents;
21his son, Dennis; and his brother, Bryce; and

1    WHEREAS, Durk Fogle is survived by his wife; his son,
2Durwood (Laura) Fogle Jr.; his stepchildren, Angie (John)
3Schneekloth, Teresa (Dan) Ball, and Garry (Janean) DePaepe; his
4sisters, Sonja Hedley and Bernice Gillian; his grandsons,
5Dalton DePaepe and Jason Fogle; and his many extended family
6and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Durwood "Durk" Fogle and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Durk Fogle as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
