SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William R. "Bill" Frieden of Moline, who
4passed away on August 30, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Frieden was born in Davenport, Iowa to Harry
6and Cornelia (Pedersen) Frieden on January 16, 1927; he served
7in the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force; he married
8Arlene Erickson in Moline on July 3, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bill Frieden retired in 1998 from his dental
10practice of 40 years; his professional memberships included the
11Rock Island District Dental Society and the Illinois Dental
12Society; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Frieden was a member of the Kiwanis in Moline
14and a 73-year member of American Legion Post 246 in Moline; he
15was also a member of the Class of 1945 lunch group in Rock
16Island; he enjoyed tennis, reading, music, and listening to the
17radio; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bill Frieden was preceded in death by his sister,
19Mary Lindgren; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bill Frieden is survived by his wife of over 66

1years, Arlene; his children, Michael (Bridget), John (Karen),
2and Daniel (Kimber) Frieden; his grandsons, Mitchell (Angie),
3Brady, Peter (Chelsea), Elliott, Christian (Carolyn),
4Benjamin, and Ryan; his step-grandchildren, Brian and Ellie
5Miers; and his brother, John C. (Janet) Frieden; therefore, be
6it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9William R. "Bill" Frieden and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Bill Frieden as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
