SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glenn Edwin Leable of Wadsworth, who
4passed away on December 14, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glenn Leable was born to Kenneth and Helene Leable
6on October 18, 1950; he spent his childhood in Gurnee; he
7attended Gurnee Grade School; he was an Eagle Scout; he
8graduated from Warren Township High School in 1968; after one
9year at Wright College, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in
101969; he served with the USMC in Okinawa, Japan and Cuba
11through 1971; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Following his military service, Glenn Leable
13worked for many years "building Gurnee" and the surrounding
14communities with his father, brother, and uncles; he became a
15certified millwright and built his beautiful, lifelong home
16with the help of various family and friends; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Glenn Leable was a proud union millwright with
18Local 1693; he worked in the Chicago area and out of state,
19including maintaining power plants in Maine and Puerto Rico; he
20used his skills to help his brother Larry install an F-111A
21Aardvark jet as a memorial to other veterans in Waukegan; and

1    WHEREAS, Glenn Leable enjoyed spending time at his family
2cabin in Alvin, Wisconsin; in recent years, he also enjoyed
3saltwater fishing and beachcombing in the Bahamas with his
4family; he was a proud father and grandfather, who relished in
5passing along his knowledge of the 110-year old family dinner
6roll recipe and family gardening secrets; he was a lifelong
7Bears fan and dog lover; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Glenn Leable was preceded in death by his parents;
9his brother, Larry Leable; and his grandson, George Leable; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Glenn Leable is survived by his wife, Rita Leable;
11his son, Brett (Rachael) Leable; his daughter, Carissa (Bret)
12Clinkingbeard; his sister, Barbara Leable; his aunt, Dorothy
13Schneider; his uncle, Hank Schneider; his grandsons, Barret,
14Bennet, and Emmett; and his many wonderful cousins, large
15extended family, friends, and co-workers; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Glenn Edwin Leable and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Glenn Leable as an expression of our
