SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald Joseph "Ron" Tucker of
4Springfield, who passed away on April 30, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was born in Springfield to Joseph B.
6and Mary Agnes Marcella Morris Tucker on September 1, 1943; he
7was a lifelong Springfield resident; he graduated from
8Springfield High School; while in high school, he was employed
9by Liquid Carbonic, a division of General Dynamics; he served
10in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam
11Era; he attended Lincoln Land Community College and Illinois
12Business College; he married Ann L. Pearson in Bloomington on
13June 22, 1968; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was employed by the State of Illinois
15in various departments from 1969 until his retirement from the
16Illinois Secretary of State, Department of Police in 2002; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was a member of several organizations,
18including the Island Bay Yacht Club, the Springfield Lake Shore
19Improvement Association, American Legion Post 32, the Forty and
20Eight, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15, and the Pleasant
21Plains Historical Society; and

1    WHEREAS, Ron enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time
2with his family, especially his grandchildren; he took up
3golfing, excelled at the sport, coached others, and was a
4starter at the Lincoln Greens Golf Course for several years; he
5also enjoyed his annual vacation with friends and his entire
6family on Sanibel Island, Florida; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was preceded in death by his parents
8and his sister, Theresa Stamm; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ron Tucker is survived by his wife, Ann Tucker;
10his children, Kimberly (Tim) O'Connor, Rob (Sue) Tucker,
11Christie (Chris) Jones, and Scott (Sarah) Tucker; his
12grandchildren, Maille O'Connor, Rian O'Connor, Aidan O'Connor,
13Kylie Tucker, Delaney Tucker, Brayden Tucker, Kaelyn Jones,
14Allie Jones, Kinley Tucker, Laiken Tucker, and Kannon Tucker;
15his brother, Kevin (Marie) Tucker; his aunt, Stevie Mclaughlin;
16and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Ronald Joseph "Ron" Tucker and extend our sincere condolences
20to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
21it further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
