SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the passing of Lawrence "Larry" E. Hastings of Joliet,
4who passed away on February 6, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Hastings was born on July 21, 1934; he
6served as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service
7for 37 years and was a lifelong resident of Joliet; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Larry Hastings' wife, Helen (Genczo) Hastings,
9was the true light of his life; they were inseparable from the
10day they met and epitomized the meaning of love and marriage;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Hastings greatly enjoyed spending time with
13his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he
14was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed
15a good polka and a cold one with his family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Larry Hastings was preceded in death by his
17parents, Russell and Helen (Wesoleski) Hastings; his grandson,
18Brian Hastings; his brother, Bernard Hastings; and his
19step-brother, Edward Wegersen; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Larry Hastings is survived by his beloved wife of

161 years, Helen Hastings; his children, Carol (John) Carroll
2and Tom (Linda) Hastings; his grandchildren, Lisa (Kris)
3Kostusik and Nick (Kayla) Hastings; his great-granddaughter,
4Sydney; his great-grandson, baby Kostusik, expected in May; and
5his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Lawrence "Larry" E. Hastings and extend our sincere condolences
9to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this presentation be
12presented to the family of Larry Hastings as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
