SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary E. Schueler, who passed away on May
429, 2019 at the age of 85; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary (Landers) Schueler was born on October 1,
61933 to Rose and Frank Landers and grew up in Hillside; she
7attended Proviso East High School, where she met and later
8married her high school sweetheart, Robert Schueler; the two
9often went on dates to Russell's BBQ in Elmwood Park; they were
10married for 68 years, and Mary was a dedicated, hard-working,
11stay-at-home mom and wife; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mary Schueler's kindness was unmatched, as she
13always made sure everyone was happy and full of food; she was
14known for her infectious laugh and for making amazing
15chocolates and other desserts, particularly her famous "Jello
16cars"; she loved a good game of poker and had a green thumb for
17growing beautiful orchids and tomatoes; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Schueler was the beloved mother of Robert Jr.
19and Lynda and supported their aspirations and the start of
20their careers by providing child care for her grandchildren,
21who saw her as grandmother, guardian, and teacher; she extended
22her care giving to other people's children, instilling in them

1the need to be loving and respectful to everyone they met; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mary Schueler was preceded in death by her
3brother, Robert Landers; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mary Schueler is survived by her loving husband,
5Robert; her children, Robert Jr. (Brenda) and Lynda (Steven);
6her grandchildren, Alexander, Ariana, Campbell, and Dryden;
7and her siblings, Frank, John, and Donna; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Mary E. Schueler and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Mary Schueler as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
