SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Officer Brett P. Lauten of Naperville,
4who passed away on September 12, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Officer Lauten attended school in Lisle; he served
6in the United States Marine Corps for six years; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Officer Lauten joined the Lisle Police Department
8on January 13, 1999; he retired on July 2, 2019 after 20 years
9of service; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Officer Lauten received many awards, including a
11Department Commendation, two Life-Saving Awards, numerous Unit
12Citations for outstanding work, as well as the Officer of the
13Year Award; he was the president of the Lisle Police Department
14Pension Board; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Officer Lauten dedicated his life to serving his
16country and his community and took great pride in his
17profession; he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother,
18uncle, and friend; he will be remembered for his humor,
19discipline, and willingness to help others; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Officer Lauten was preceded in death by his

1father, Philip D. Lauten; his grandfather, Thomas J. Krebes;
2and his father-in-law, Richard Maciejewski; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Officer Lauten is survived by his wife, Theresa
4(Maciejewski); his children, Madison and Maximilian Lauten;
5his mother, Judy (Krebes) Lauten; his grandmother, Rita R.
6Krebes; his sister, Kim (John) Ruskusky; his nieces and
7nephews, Amanda, Nicole, Sean, Lula, Joely, Vaughn, Leona,
8Quinn, Beaux, and Dashel; and his siblings-in-law, Rick (Jorie)
9Maciejewski, Lori Palella, Debbie (Al) Marin/Matus, and Kim
10Richter; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Officer Brett P. Lauten and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Brett Lauten as an expression of our
18esteem and respect.
