SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William J. "Bill" Slingsby of
4Bloomington, who passed away on July 19, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby was born in Ottawa to Emmett J. and
6Margaret Twohey Slingsby on April 17, 1941; he graduated from
7Marquette High School and attended Tri-State University (Trine
8University) in Angola, Indiana; he married Sandra J. Carr in
9Ottawa on June 20, 1964; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby retired as a construction
11superintendent, having worked on roads, highways, and
12interstates; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby enjoyed farming, gardening, lawn
14work, the outdoors, and vacationing at Longboat Key, Florida;
15he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Bloomington
16Country Club, and St. Mary's Parish in Bloomington; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby is survived by his wife, Sandy; his
18brother, Emmett (Janet) Slingsby; his sister, Karin (Joseph)
19Amodea; and three nephews and two nieces; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2William J. "Bill" Slingsby and extend our sincere condolences
3to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
4it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Bill Slingsby as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
