SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Andrea Stoudemire of Chicago, who passed
4away on July 26, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire was born on the South Side of
6Chicago on August 23, 1983; she graduated from South Shore High
7School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire worked several jobs to provide
9for her family and found the career of her dreams in the
10customer service field; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire was a member of Mothers Against
12Senseless Killings (MASK), a group that was formed in 2015
13after three women were shot, one fatally, near the same street
14corner in the Englewood neighborhood; she devoted the last two
15years of her life to fighting gun violence on the streets of
16Englewood; she enjoyed spending time with friends and family,
17cooking, and traveling with her fiance; she cherished her role
18as a mother; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire was preceded in death by her
20mother, Danita Stoudemire; her father, Mr. Young; and her
21grandmother, Joanne Stoudemire; and

1    WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire is survived by her fiance,
2Dejuan Williams; her daughter, Brinity Johnson; her sons,
3Micheal Johnson and Pierre Brown; her aunts, Carolyn Thornton
4and Yvonne Thornton; her uncle, Charles Stoudemire; and many
5cousins and friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Andrea Stoudemire and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Andrea Stoudemire as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
