SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy Suppon of Caseyville, who passed
4away on January 29, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Suppon was born in Caseyville to George
6and Anna (Schanz) Struebe on January 2, 1921; she married
7Victor Suppon on October 3, 1954; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dorothy Suppon owned and operated Struebe's
9Confectionery with her mother until 1960; she also worked at
10the Martha Manning Dress Factory in Collinsville; after her
11marriage, she became a full-time homemaker; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dorothy Suppon was a member of Caseyville United
13Methodist Church until she was 17 years old and converted to
14Catholicism; she then joined St. Stephen Catholic Church and
15had been a member for 81 years; she was a member of the VFW
16Ladies Auxiliary in Collinsville and the St. Anne Altar Society
17at St. Stephen Church; she volunteered at the Caseyville Food
18Pantry and at St. Stephen and Seton Ann Catholic Grade Schools
19in Caseyville and Fairview Heights; many children looked
20forward to reading their books to her; she enjoyed playing
21cards, dancing, and cooking; she loved her family; and

1    WHEREAS, Dorothy Suppon was preceded in death by her
2parents; her husband, Victor; and her son-in-law, Larry James
3Huett; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dorothy Suppon is survived by her daughter, Sue
5Ann Huett; and her granddaughter, Amy Marie Huett; therefore,
6be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dorothy Suppon and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dorothy Suppon as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
