SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Hoebel "Dick" Lincoln of
4Bloomington, who passed away on January 23, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dick Lincoln was born in Dysart, Iowa on April 9,
61930; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dick Lincoln began his career in the oil business,
8working for his wife's father; In 1955, he accepted a job with
9Skelly Oil and moved his family to Bloomington-Normal; he
10delivered Skelly heating oil to homes and grew the business
11until it included a Union 76 oil distributorship, several Union
1276 gas stations, a chain of modern convenience stores, farms,
13heating and cooling businesses, and a security business; later
14in life, he changed careers and was the sole agent of Lincoln
15Realty, where he specialized in franchise operations; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dick Lincoln was a member of Ducks Unlimited for
17years; he was an avid hunter and hunted each year at his duck
18hunting club in Havana; a distant cousin of Abraham Lincoln, he
19was proud of his family and its heritage; he will be remembered
20as a hard worker and good provider for his family; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Dick Lincoln was preceded in death by his wife

1Audrey, his son, Tom; and his granddaughter, Lacey; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Dick Lincoln is survived by his sons, Kyle, Craig
3(Linda), and John; his daughter, Cynthia (Dave); his
4grandchildren, Chase (Katie), Stevi, Ellee, Will (Melissa),
5Lincoln, Kaylee (Michael), Brittany, and Cameron; his
6great-grandchildren, Liam, Bennett, Theodore, Sebastian, Drew,
7Kiki, and one on the way; his sister, Mary; and his nieces and
8great-nieces; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Richard Hoebel "Dick" Lincoln and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dick Lincoln as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
