SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara Jean Franklin Hiltabrand Allsup
4of Bloomington, who passed away on January 20, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Allsup was born in Normal to Noah Elmo and
6Margaret Bona Mann Franklin on April 11, 1926; she attended
7school in Lexington until her last two years of high school;
8she graduated from Ward Belmont Preparatory School in
9Nashville, Tennessee and then attended Stephens College in
10Columbia, Missouri, where she majored in aeronautics; she
11married Robert James "Hilde" Hiltabrand in a garden wedding at
12her parents' home in Lexington in August 1945; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Barbara Allsup earned her private pilot license;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Barbara Allsup was preceded in death by her
16parents; her husbands, Robert James Hiltabrand and Ted T.
17Allsup; her son, James Franklin Hiltabrand; and her brother,
18Noah Elmo Franklin Jr.; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Barbara Allsup is survived by her children, Sarah
20Sporrer (David) and Lucy Hoover (Robert Newport); five
21grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her stepchildren, Lynn

1Allsup Olson, Joanne Woolridge (James), and Morgan Allsup
2(Caitlin); and three stepgrandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Barbara Jean Franklin Hiltabrand Allsup and extend our sincere
6condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7her; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Barbara Allsup as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
