HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark
4Kevin Tolbert, who passed away on November 16, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Tolbert was born in Memphis, Tennessee to
6Eddie Lee and Hannah Ruth Tolbert on March 14, 1971; at the age
7of five, he relocated to Chicago to reside with and be raised
8by his Aunt Everlina and Uncle Charles Cowan; he attended
9Gallistel Elementary School and Washington High School; he
10married Rhonda Powell on February 3, 2009; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mark Tolbert held several jobs, working for Waste
12Management, Burger King, and the Blood Center of Illinois; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Tolbert committed to his faith at an early
14age and was baptized at Triedstone Baptist Church in Chicago;
15he loved basketball, and his favorite basketball player was
16Michael Jordan; he enjoyed watching movies and playing with his
17granddaughters; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mark Tolbert was preceded in death by his mother,
19Hannah Ruth Tolbert; his grandmother, Sade Ingram; his sister,
20Lillian Hill; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Powell; and

1    WHEREAS, Mark Tolbert is survived by his wife, Rhonda
2Powell-Tolbert; his sons, Mitchell King, MarShun Kevin
3Tolbert, and Marsalis Lyn Tolbert; his daughter, Michelle Ruth
4Anne Tolbert; his granddaughters, Armani Nevaeh Tolbert and
5Kennedy Lynette McCall; his sisters, Emma Ingram, Monica
6Ingram, and Yessen Hill; his brothers, Shun Tolbert and Desmond
7West; his aunts, Everlina (Charles) Cowan and Josephine
8(Arthur) Drain; his uncles, John (Cynthia) and Joseph Ingram;
9his brothers-in-law, John (Bridgette) and Rev. Stevie
10(Claudia); his sister-in-law, Cecilia Duncan; and a host of
11nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we mourn the passing of Mark Kevin Tolbert and extend our
15sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Mark Tolbert as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
