HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives would like to congratulate Kendall County
4Judge Tim McCann of Oswego on his retirement after a
5distinguished career of service in Kendall County; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Judge McCann graduated from Oswego High School in
71977; he then attended Aurora University, where he graduated
8with a bachelor's degree; after receiving his undergraduate
9degree, he attended Northern Illinois University, where he
10received his Juris Doctorate; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Judge McCann began his career in public service in
121996 when he was first elected as Kendall County State's
13Attorney; he was successfully re-elected in 2000 and 2004; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Judge McCann served in the Twenty-Third Judicial
15Circuit (Second Appellate District) Court, first as an
16associate judge in 2005 and then as chief judge from 2012 to
172016; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Judge McCann's legacy of service and commitment to
19the preservation of law was honored by members of the Kendall
20County Board in August of 2019 with Kendall County Board
21Chairman Scott Gryder notably stating, "there are certain

1people who have just a tremendous impact on our county, and
2Judge McCann is one of those people"; and
 
3    WHEREAS, In a statement announcing his retirement, Judge
4McCann noted that he "will always be indebted to the people of
5Kendall County" who showed him such great support over the
6years; without a doubt, the support he received throughout the
7years was a testament to his commitment to the people of
8Kendall County as a member of the judicial system; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate Judge Tim McCann on his many years of service
13as a Kendall County Judge and wish him a peaceful and healthy
14retirement; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Judge McCann as a symbol of our great esteem and
17appreciation for a remarkable career in public service in
18Kendall County.
