SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
50 ILCS 709/5-10

    Amends the Uniform Crime Reporting Act. Provides that all data and information provided to the Illinois State Police under the Act are subject to audit. Provides that the Illinois State Police shall adopt rules for the audit procedure.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Uniform Crime Reporting Act is amended by
5changing Section 5-10 as follows:
 
6    (50 ILCS 709/5-10)
7    Sec. 5-10. Central repository of crime statistics. The
8Illinois Department of State Police shall be a central
9repository and custodian of crime statistics for the State and
10shall have all the power necessary to carry out the purposes of
11this Act, including the power to demand and receive cooperation
12in the submission of crime statistics from all law enforcement
13agencies. All data and information provided to the Illinois
14State Police Department under this Act must be provided in a
15manner and form prescribed by the Illinois State Police
16Department and are subject to audit. On an annual basis, the
17Illinois State Police Department shall make available
18compilations of crime statistics required to be reported by
19each law enforcement agency. The Illinois State Police shall
20adopt rules for the audit procedure.
